Project Description

My research focuses on monitoring, design and control of batch and continuous pharmaceutical crystallization using process analytical technology (PAT) (e.g. UV/vis, FBRM, PVM, online UPLC, Raman), feedback control and population balance modelling to achieve desired crystal size, shape, yield and purity. Three topics are of particular interests: (1) combined cooling/antisolvent crystallization (2) wet-milling integrated crystallization operation (3) additive/impurity effect on crystallization process. The studies are carried out using both experimental and modeling techniques.
